Happy Valentine's Day!

If you feel like baking a special valentines treat for you and your special someone I recommend you try making this beautiful moist chocolate banana cake..... It's delish!! I made it last night and it was so simple and tasted great.

This was one of my grandmother's favourite recipes.

AUDREY'S CHOCOLATE BANANA CAKE

125g butter
1 cup of caster sugar
1 egg
3 tbs cocoa
1 1/2 cups self raising flour
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp baking soda dissolved in
1 generous tbs boiling water
3 mashed well-ripened bananas
milk and white chocolate, roughly chopped

Preheat oven to 170-180 degrees C. Soften the butter and beat in the sugar then the egg. Sift in the cocoa, mix, then add the milk. Sift in half of the flour, mix, add in the soda dissolved in the boiling water. Sift in the rest of the flour. Lastly, add the bananas and choc chips. Pour into a greased cake tin and cook for approx. 40 minutes or until cooked in the center.

Ice with chocolate butter icing and decorate how you like. I used blueberries as a border around the top of the cake.

If you wanted you could even go all out and do a romantic table setting and dinner..

Hope you all have a lovely valentines evening.
